I really wish I knew who said this. I searched online and it seems like no one knows. It’s not in the bible either… Whoever said this first must have been through a LOT but persevered and never lost faith.
The best medicine?
I don’t really agree with this. Coz if it were true, then we need more comedians than we need doctors.
I know. I know. The phrase “laughter is the best medicine” shouldn’t be taken literally. But knowing myself, I would rather say “laughter is the best anesthesia”.
When we’re hurting, no matter how bad, when someone makes us laugh, it somehow alleviates the pain. It doesn’t really resolve anything, but it does make us feel good—at that time. Coz when the anesthesia wears off, the pain comes crawling back. Little by little and then *WHAM*! It hits you again—full force.
Seriously, we all need to laugh more, in shorter intervals. Maybe, just maybe, the pain wouldn’t have the time to crawl back if the intervals were shorter.
